A letter subscription gift does something a wrapped object cannot. It arrives again. And again. Every few weeks, with their name on the front and wax on the back.
A gift is paid once and runs for the whole series. It does not renew and does not need cancelling, by you or by them.

Both are the whole of The Phoenix Letters: all 24 letters, 2 a month across 12 months, paid once. The difference is whether something arrives to keep them in.

The Keepsake Edition

Everything in the prepaid year, plus $44 for the box, the seal and the map.

- A lidded keepsake box sized to hold all 24 letters. Letter 1 arrives inside it.
- A Crossed Quills wax seal stamp, with sealing wax.
- An 11x17 print of the Solmere/Umbravale borderlands map.
The monthly plan cannot be given as a gift. A gift that renews is a charge on your card every month until you remember to stop it, which is not a gift. Both terms above are a single payment. The same plans, bought for yourself, are on plans and pricing.
On their end
What the recipient receives
They do not get a voucher code and a login. They get post.
First
However you tell them
Enter your recipient's address as the shipping address and your own for billing. Nothing is sent to your recipient automatically — the surprise stays yours to give. Their first letter arrives at the next mailing date.
Then
Two letters a month
Sealed, stamped, addressed to them. The same letters every other subscriber is reading.
Throughout
Inclusions
Pressed flowers, torn maps, feathers. Whatever that month's letter carries.
Your part
The reveal is yours to make
Nothing reaches them ahead of the first letter, so how they find out is up to you. Hand them a card, tell them over dinner, or say nothing at all and let the envelope do it.
Whichever you choose, the first sealed letter turns up with their name on the front and the story already underway.
If you want to hand them something on the day, we make a printable card. It tells them what the letters are and gives away nothing about the story. The lines at the bottom are blank on purpose — that part is yours to write.
Why this instead
Better than another candle
Most gifts for a reader are a guess at a book they may already own, or a scented object they did not ask for.
